Lower sales tax on farm lime and fencing

Beginning July 1, 2026, commercial farmers pay a 1.5% state sales tax on gates and fencing used to contain livestock. The sale must be to a commercial farmer and the materials must be for agricultural use. Also starting July 1, 2026, lime used for agricultural purposes is exempt from state sales tax. These changes lower taxes on common farm inputs.
