The Perry County Board of Supervisors can add an assessment up to $50 per case after passing a resolution. It applies to each civil case filed in justice court and to each misdemeanor conviction or non-adjudication. This is on top of other assessments and court costs. Money collected must pay to repair, upgrade, operate, furnish, add technology to, and maintain the Perry County Justice Court Building, and it can match grants. The law takes effect upon passage, and the authority to charge this fee ends July 1, 2030.
