Voting rights restored to Jose Williams

The law restores the right to vote to Jose Williams of Hinds County, Mississippi. He lost voting rights after a Grand Larceny conviction on April 30, 1991, in Rankin County. He was sentenced to six months in state custody and five years of probation. He was released on parole on August 15, 1991, after his sentence expired. Lawmakers note he has since lived as a law-abiding citizen. The restoration is full and complete, applies only to him, and takes effect upon the law’s passage.
