Health businesses face fees and increases

Beginning July 1, 2026, food establishments pay annual permit fees of $40, $132.25, $198, or $264.50, based on category. Other listed fees include $10 for private water approval, $100 for soil and site reviews, and fees for wastewater certifications and manufacturer registration. Health agencies may raise covered fees no more than three times through June 30, 2029; each increase is capped at one-third of the fee then in effect and requires an annual advisory board recommendation. Public schools, public colleges, state agencies and institutions, qualifying foster homes, and qualifying infrequent honey sellers are exempt from certain fees.
