New fund for Ross Barnett upkeep

The law creates a State Treasury fund for the Ross Barnett Reservoir called the Dredging and Maintenance Fund. The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District Board manages it, and the Legislature must approve spending. Money pays for dredging, debris removal, and shoreline erosion prevention. Starting in fiscal year 2022, the Board may deposit up to $200,000 each year from lease payments, fees, and other receipts. Unspent money does not lapse, and interest stays in the fund.
