Beginning July 1, 2026, the Secretary of State, with the Governor’s approval, must give each county election commissioner a sample of the official ballot at least 60 days before an election. This replaces the prior 55-day minimum. If certifying a primary runoff and qualifying the party nominee make the 60-day deadline impossible, the Secretary must publish a sample as soon as practicable. Voters and county election officials get a five-day earlier deadline for receiving sample ballots.
