Mississippi Guard gets Tricare premium payback

The law creates a program in the Mississippi Military Department, run by the Adjutant General. You must be an actively drilling Guard member, eligible for Tricare Reserve Select, and have no employer health insurance. The program repays the current Tricare Reserve Select "member only" premium you paid. Payments happen only if the Legislature funds the program. The Adjutant General sets application and payment rules.

Yearly report on Guard premium program

Beginning December 1, 2026, the Adjutant General sends a yearly report to lawmakers. It lists how many used the program, effects on medical readiness, and ideas to improve it.
