The state funds the Mississippi Small Business Development Center for FY 2027. It provides $364,613 in state funds and $2,573,401 in special funds. The center offers advice, counseling, training, and other help to small businesses. Funding runs July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

FY 2027 funds support the Mississippi Polymer Institute ($929,961), the Water Resources Institute ($354,278), and the Supercomputer program ($662,749). The Mineral Resources Institute receives $412,472 in state funds and $527,861 from special funds. Funding runs July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
The State Court Education Program gets $2.09 million in FY 2027. The Mississippi Law Research Institute gets $922,966 in state funds and $345,778 from special funds. Funding supports judicial education and legal research from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
Agencies must use funds only for lawful, needed duties and cannot replace lost federal or special salary funds with these state dollars. The Board must report any institution running deficits each year and send FY 2028 budget requests in the same format. Any funds paid as fees or placed in banks must follow state constitutional and legal rules. When bids are equal, or when no competitive bids are used, purchases must prefer Mississippi Industries for the Blind. No funds may support research that kills or destroys a human embryo.
The Mississippi State Chemical Laboratory gets $1.91 million in state funds and $506,807 from special funds for FY 2027. The lab may give free services up to the legal cap. After that, if a client’s past charges are over 90 days late, the lab must stop services funded by this act until paid. Funding runs July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
