Beginning July 1, 2026, the state provides $1,298,591 to the Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners for Fiscal Year 2027. The Board uses this money to run its operations. The Board may also use these funds to pay ITS charges for cloud system upgrades or migration under the state’s Cloud Center of Excellence law.
When bids are tied on price, quality, and service, the Board must prefer Mississippi Industries for the Blind. The same preference applies when the Board makes purchases without competitive bids.
Up to $27,000 from this act goes to the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy. The money helps pay for the Mississippi Prescription Monitoring Program in Fiscal Year 2027.
Spending must follow state law, and no agency may run up obligations beyond its appropriation. Officers who break this rule can be held personally or bond‑responsible. The law forbids using general funds from this act to replace federal or other special funds that paid salaries but were withdrawn. It also bans spending these funds in ways that violate IRS Publication 15‑A on reporting pay to contract workers, as the State Auditor interprets it.
The law caps Personal Services (salaries, wages, and fringe benefits) at $720,776 for FY 2027 and blocks transfers out of that category. The Board is authorized up to 8 permanent positions. The State Personnel Board must publish the projected annual cost of Personal Services using payroll data. The agency cannot get extra salary or headcount funds unless it proves new money above this appropriation. FY 2026 escalated headcounts are treated as time‑limited unless noted.
