Property tax break for park nonprofits

Beginning January 1, 2026, nonprofits that lease or sublease state park land do not pay property tax on that lease. The lease must be for developing, supporting, improving, administering, or operating a Mississippi state park. The land must be part of the state park system managed by the wildlife, fisheries, and parks department. The exemption applies to the leasehold or sublease interest itself.
