Voting rights restored for Melvin Jackson

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law restores the right to vote to Melvin Jackson of Monroe County. He lost this right on August 20, 2001 after a Lowndes County conviction for false pretenses and a three-year probation sentence. This law applies only to him and does not change general voting rules.
