Time limits to sue appraisers

Montana sets a hard deadline to sue over an appraisal or appraisal review. Most claims must start within 5 years from the date the appraisal was completed. If the claim falls under Montana’s 27-2-202(1), the deadline is 8 years. This applies to claims against real estate appraisers, appraisal firms, and appraisal management companies. The law does not extend any other filing deadlines.
