Physician assistants can lead comp care and ratings

Under workers’ comp, a physician assistant licensed under Title 37, chapter 20 can be your treating doctor when no qualifying physician is available nearby. The PA must take primary responsibility for your care and coordination. A PA can also do your impairment rating when no physician is available in the area, if the injury is within the PA’s scope of practice.

Workers' comp changes take effect now

The law takes effect on passage and approval. The new provider and rating rules apply right away.
