Higher base hunting fee for nonresidents

To apply for any Montana hunting license, you must first buy a base hunting license each license year. This includes the Class A-2 bow and arrow license. For nonresidents, the base license now costs $100, up from $15. Of that, $90 is a hunting access fee the department uses for programs under 87-1-265. The resident base license stays $10, with $2 as a hunting access fee. This raises a nonresident’s cost by $85 per year.
