More diverse, transparent state board appointments

The law requires all state appointing authorities to take positive action to reach gender balance and proportional minority representation, to the greatest extent possible, as vacancies open and appointments are made. The Secretary of State publishes each month in the Montana Administrative Register the executive branch’s recent appointments and upcoming vacancies on boards and commissions. The Governor reports to the Legislature on progress, following the process in 5-11-210.
