Monthly list of state board openings

The Secretary of State publishes each month, in the Montana Administrative Register, recent executive appointments and upcoming vacancies on state boards and commissions. This gives the public a regular list of openings to watch and apply for. The law does not add new funding or change who can be appointed.

Diversity targets on state boards ended

The law ends the rule that appointing officials must take action to reach gender balance and minority representation on state boards and commissions. The Governor no longer reports to the Legislature on progress toward those goals. State appointments no longer have these diversity targets in statute.
