Hospitals get Medicaid funds by May 15

The law requires the Department of Public Health and Human Services to fund hospital Medicaid payment increases by May 15 each year; the deadline moved from May 5. Money comes from the hospital Medicaid reimbursement account. All collections under 15-66-102 go into that account, except amounts that go to the Montana HELP Act special revenue account. Funds can also cover fee collection and other administrative costs. The law takes effect on passage, so the May 15 deadline applies now. A prior termination clause tied to June 30, 2025 under earlier law still applies.
