The state health department must use money in the hospital Medicaid reimbursement account by May 15 each year. The money pays for higher Medicaid payments to hospitals and for fee collection and other related costs. This gives 10 more days than the old May 5 date. The law takes effect on passage and approval, so this timing applies right away.
