No more state reports on federal mandates

The law repeals Montana’s Federal Mandates Act sections. State agencies no longer must report on federal mandates or include mandate costs in budget plans. The Legislature no longer has the formal review and oversight process those sections created. This cuts paperwork for agencies but reduces public and legislative transparency about mandate costs. Two remaining sections move to Title 5, Chapter 11, Part 1 as an organizational change.
