Governor can accept state authority on some federal lands

Montana can accept legal authority back from the United States over some federal lands. It applies to U.S.-owned lands in Montana used as national parks or for the military. The United States must send a written notice offering to give up all or part of its authority. The governor may accept and must file the acceptance with the Montana Secretary of State. The change takes effect when that filing is made.
