Homeowners can get wildfire risk scores

If your admitted insurer uses a wildfire risk score to rate or evaluate your home, you, your agent, or an applicant can ask for details. The insurer must respond within 30 days with your current score, the model’s score range, who created the score, the date, and the key factors that adversely affected the score. This rule applies only to insurers admitted in Montana; nonadmitted insurers do not have to share this information. The law defines a wildfire risk score as a number, rating, or category from a model that measures a home’s wildfire risk.
