Local bonds to expand broadband access

Starting January 1, 2028, cities and counties can sell bonds to fund broadband projects. The bonds can pay only for service that serves exclusively unserved or underserved areas under Montana law. They also cover places where internet is only available by satellite. This helps local leaders and providers finance new lines and equipment in those target areas.
