Federal military rules for Montana Guard

Beginning October 1, 2025, Montana uses federal military laws and regulations to govern the Montana National Guard. The state adopts those federal rules as they exist on October 1, 2025. They apply only when they fit the Guard and do not conflict with the Montana Constitution, state law, or rules under 10-1-105. The law also adopts the federal military justice code (UCMJ) and its manuals to the greatest extent practical. It covers Guard members, including AGR on Title 32 duty in Montana, when they are not in federal Title 10 status. These rules apply to events and cases that start on or after October 1, 2025.
