Montana Guard adopts 2025 federal rules

Beginning October 1, 2025, the Montana National Guard follows the most recent federal military laws and regulations. The state also adopts the Uniform Code of Military Justice and its manuals as of that date. These rules apply only when they do not conflict with the Montana Constitution, Montana statutes, or rules under 10-1-105. They cover Guard members serving under Title 32, including AGR on duty in Montana. They do not apply when members are in federal Title 10 status.

New rules start October 1, 2025

The law applies to events and proceedings that occur or begin on or after October 1, 2025. It does not change outcomes before that date.
