Double pay for enlisted on state duty

Enlisted Guard members ordered into state active duty get pay equal to twice the federal active‑duty rate for their grade and years. The former 15‑day limit is removed, so the double rate applies for the whole state duty period. These changes take effect upon passage and approval.

Guard special-work pay matches federal rates

National Guard members on state duty for special work get pay and allowances equal to the federal active‑duty rate for their grade and years. This applies to both officers and enlisted members. These changes take effect upon passage and approval.

Officer state pay matches federal rates

Officers on state active duty get the same pay and allowances as the federal active‑duty rate for their grade and years. A rated aviation officer who flies in a state emergency can be paid like state aerial wildfire crews if the adjutant general approves. The state may not pay these officer or aviation rates when federal funds already pay for that duty. These changes take effect upon passage and approval.
