Montana Guard: double early pay, federal rates

Officers on state active duty get the same pay and allowances as federal active duty for their rank and years. Enlisted members get double that federal-like pay for the first 15 days. After 15 days, they get the regular federal-like rate. Guard members on state duty for special work get the same pay as federal active duty. Rated aviation officers who fly during a state emergency can be paid like state wildfire pilots if the Adjutant General approves.

No double pay when feds pay

If federal funds already pay for your active duty, the state cannot also pay you under the officer pay match or the wildfire‑flying rate. This stops double payment for the same time.
