Fast pre-election reports for candidates

Candidates must report within 2 business days from the 15th day of the month before an election until the day before the election. If they get a contribution equal to the legal contribution limit in that window, they must report it within 2 business days. If they make a single expenditure at or above that limit in that window, they must report it within 2 business days. Unopposed candidates do not have to file these 2-day reports.

More frequent reports for candidates

The law requires candidates to file campaign reports even with no contributions or spending. Each quarter, a report is due by the 5th day after the quarter ends. Quarterly filing starts when a candidate first gets or spends money before the election year. Quarterly filing ends in the last quarter before the election year. In the election year, reports are due on March 20, April 20, May 20, June 20, August 20, September 20, October 20, and November 20. Reports must include the donor and spending details that state law requires.
