Local red flag gun laws banned

The law bans Montana cities and counties from creating or enforcing red flag orders (extreme risk protection orders). An order counts if it blocks a named person from having guns or makes them turn in guns. Local governments also cannot take grants or other money to adopt or enforce these orders. Violations are fined up to $10,000 per act, paid to the state. Orders of protection under Title 40, chapter 15 still apply and are not treated as red flag orders.
