Medicaid covers direct patient care agreements

Beginning July 1, 2025, Montana Medicaid covers services under a qualifying direct patient care agreement defined in 50-4-107. If you have such an agreement, the state cannot require you to join a primary care case management program. The law defines which agreements qualify and lets participating providers bill Medicaid for covered services, as allowed.

Small funds to implement Medicaid changes

For the two-year budget period that begins July 1, 2025, the state provides $5,000 to the health department to carry out this law. This funds agency work, not direct payments to people.
