Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Court fees shifted to county funds

Clerks must deposit certain fees into the county district court fund. This includes the $20 part of the foreclosure issuance fee. If the county has no district court fund, the money goes to the county general fund for district court operations.

Higher fee for foreclosure sale orders

The clerk now charges $25 to issue an execution or order of sale in a lien foreclosure. This used to cost $5. The person who asks for the order pays the fee. Of the $25, $20 goes to the county district court fund (or county general fund for court operations) and $5 goes to the state general fund.
