Physical therapists can lead workers' comp care

If you have a compensable work injury, a licensed physical therapist can serve as your treating physician. The treating physician manages and coordinates your medical care. The therapist must be licensed in Montana under Title 37, chapter 11, and be primarily responsible for your care. Insurers, employers, and claims administrators must recognize this role, subject to section 39-71-1101.
