Community health aide program made permanent

The law removes the end date for the Community Health Aide Program. The program keeps running after the old sunset. The law takes effect when signed. Tribal governments and eligible Montana residents can keep getting community health aide services.

State seeks Medicaid coverage for community health aides

The health department must apply to the federal Medicaid agency for a state plan amendment. This lets Montana Medicaid pay for care from certified community health aides. The waiver option is removed; the state must use a plan amendment. Coverage begins only after federal approval. You can use this if you are on Montana Medicaid and see a certified community health aide.
