Railroads must report accidents quickly

Railroad companies that run lines in Montana must promptly report any accident to the Montana Public Service Commission. Each report must state the time and place, the names of people killed or hurt, and the value of property destroyed. The Commission sets by rule which accidents meet the reporting threshold and other details. The law takes effect immediately.
