The Montana Board of Crime Control funds a domestic violence intervention program using a dedicated state account. The program gives grants to communities to support misdemeanor probation or compliance officers who check that offenders follow court orders. It targets cases of partner or family member assault, strangulation, and violating a protection order. Courts can also get grants to run an offender intervention program that meets state standards. The board sets funding priorities and criteria, tracks spending, evaluates results, and adopts rules for the program.
