The law ends the amended "coal washing" and "contract sales price" definitions on July 1, 2027. After that date, those amended terms no longer apply in the coal severance tax law. This mainly affects coal producers and buyers who use those definitions in pricing and tax calculations. The Secretary of State must also send a copy of this act to all federally recognized tribal governments in Montana.
