Beginning July 1, 2025, the state runs an Adjustment to Blindness Program for people under 55 with severe vision loss. The health department sets eligibility by rule and evaluates each person’s needs. Services can include mobility training, assistive technology, Braille, independent living skills, peer counseling, and guide or reader services. The department considers your finances and funds are limited, so not all services may be covered. If you are denied or disagree with an action, you can ask for a fair hearing.
