Effective July 30, 2025, the law corrects memberships on two commissions. It lists Dennis Reno of Mecklenburg County on the Boxing and Combat Sports Commission, with a term ending June 30, 2028. It confirms Chet A. Effler (McDowell), David L. Rose (Stokes), Brian Gates (Surry), and Shawn Owens (name corrected) of Davidson County on the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, with terms ending June 30, 2027. Housing Finance Agency board corrected

Effective July 30, 2025, the law lists Tom Smith (Wake County), Jason Triplett of Watauga County (corrected from Ashe), Paul S. Jaber (Nash County), and Lynn Pinter (Haywood County) on the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency board. Their terms end June 30, 2027. This is a governance correction and does not change housing program eligibility or household costs.

Community college board appointments updated

Effective July 30, 2025, the law updates several community college boards. It appoints Julie T. Williams (Wilson County) to Wilson Community College and Dr. David T. Tayloe (Wayne County) to Wayne Community College, with terms ending June 30, 2029. It appoints C. Chase Keller (Caldwell County) to fill James Sponenberg III’s unexpired term, ending June 30, 2026. It also corrects listings: Henry Stilley, Jr. (Craven County) to Craven Community College (term ends June 30, 2029), Tommy G. Williams of Franklin County to Johnston Community College (term ends June 30, 2029), and Daniel L. Taylor, Jr. of Greene County to Pitt Community College (term ends June 30, 2026). State education boards appointments corrected

The law updates statewide education boards. It appoints Alexandra B. Hoskins (Forsyth County) to the Educator Preparation and Standards Commission effective September 1, 2025, with a term ending August 31, 2027. It replaces the School of Science and Math board list with Jennifer Levy (Montgomery County, Maryland), Fredrick Reese (Henderson County), and Dr. Anthony Negbenebor (Cleveland County), with terms ending June 30, 2029. It corrects the Charter Schools Review Board to list Shelly Shope (spelling corrected) and Bruce Friend, with terms ending June 30, 2029. These are administrative updates and do not change household finances.
