Property in the described territory that existed on January 1, 2025 no longer owes Greensboro city property tax for tax years that start on or after July 1, 2025. County and state taxes still apply. The law takes effect June 30, 2025. Your savings depend on your property value and the city tax rate.
Any City of Greensboro ad valorem tax or special assessment liens that were outstanding before June 30, 2025 stay valid. The city can still collect them or foreclose after that date, even though the parcels are outside city limits.
Three Guilford County parcels with Tax IDs 6895976475, 7806008817, and 7806009684 are removed from Greensboro city limits on June 30, 2025. This changes which city services and municipal rules apply to those properties.
