Up to $100,000 from mineral-related payments for surface damage, easements, or reclamation on department land can go into the grants, gifts, and donations line. These are base-level amounts with no added enhancements.
The department can spend up to $2,777,778 from its land habitat and deer depredation budget for midterm conservation agreements with private landowners. Agreements can last up to 30 years. Owners have buyback options after year 15, year 20, and year 25 to withdraw all or part of the acreage. Deals follow the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation framework.
