Free counseling for jurors after tough trials

The state provides up to 10 hours of free post-trial counseling for jurors and alternates. It applies when the trial had extraordinarily graphic, gruesome, or very emotional evidence or testimony. Covered crimes include murder, manslaughter, negligent homicide, felony assault or domestic violence, sexual offenses, and child abuse or neglect. The court may include other offenses. You must use the counseling within 180 days after the jury is discharged. It can be individual or group, and provided by the courts, a state agency, or a contractor.
