Background checks for Emergency Services and Adjutant General staff

The Department of Emergency Services can require state and national criminal background checks for final job applicants and current employees who work with the department. The Office of the Adjutant General can obtain checks for final applicants, current employees, and volunteers. This includes people in recruiting and retention, sexual assault response, and youth programs, and when they work with Emergency Services. Nationwide checks use the state’s standard process for background screening. The law does not state any fees or a start date.
