Raw milk sales face tight limits

Farms may not sell raw milk or raw milk products to wholesalers or retail stores for mass consumption. They may not donate these products. Sales cannot involve interstate commerce, so no shipping or selling across state lines.

Farms can sell raw milk direct

North Dakota farms can sell raw milk and products made from it straight to the buyer. Sales must be in-state and for personal use. The farm must label items as "raw milk" or "made with raw milk." Sales made this way are not subject to other provisions listed in the law, including chapters 4.1-05, 4.1-26, 19-02.1, 23-9, and title 64.
