Correctional trainees count for retirement

The law updates who counts as a correctional officer for the North Dakota public employees retirement system. It still covers members who work as correctional officers for political subdivisions. It now also counts employees at a correctional facility who are enrolled, but not yet finished, in a correctional officer course approved or certified by the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. This can start retirement contributions and service credit while you are in training.
