GED and emergency credits allowed

Your school board can award credit for passing GED sections in English, math, science, or social studies. Starting August 1, 2025, your board can also let you replace up to one required unit with an elective or dual‑credit class if you have an emergency. These options apply only if your board adopts a policy.

Computer science required, waiver available

Beginning August 1, 2025, students must complete one unit of computer science or cybersecurity to graduate. That class can count as a math or science credit. You can skip it if you completed a board‑approved computer science and cybersecurity integration plan.
