Lifetime license for long-time teachers

The law grants a lifetime teaching license to people who have held a North Dakota license for the years the law requires. This ends routine renewal for those teachers. The board still keeps its normal power to suspend or revoke a license when warranted.

Five-year no-fee report for lifetime teachers

If you hold a lifetime license and are or plan to be employed as a teacher, you must file a report with the board at least once every five years. You must use the form and method the board sets. The report is free; the board cannot charge you. You must say if you have broken a criminal law since you got the license or since your last report, and share any facts that could lead to suspension or revocation.
