Stricter vehicle lighting rules for drivers

Do not aim any lamp over 300 candlepower so its bright beam hits the road beyond 75 feet. This does not apply to headlamps, spot or auxiliary lamps, turn signals, emergency lights, or schoolbus warning lights. Vehicles may not show a red or green light visible from directly in front, unless this chapter specifically allows a red light. Flashing lights are only allowed on authorized emergency vehicles, schoolbuses, snow‑removal equipment, funeral escort vehicles, or as turn signals or hazard flashers. These rules reduce glare and confusion for everyone on the road.
