Police and corrections work schedules are private

The law exempts work schedule records for law enforcement and the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from public disclosure. If a record shows an employee’s shifts or schedule, it is not released under the open-records law. This protects employee safety and privacy. The rule applies only to records that actually contain an employee’s work schedule.
