Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Expanded Medicaid for families and pregnancy

The state expands Medicaid access. Children, family groups, and pregnant people qualify without an asset test. Pregnant people who are lawfully present in the U.S. are eligible. Medically needy people qualify when their countable income is at or below the state standard. That income level must be at least the federal minimum.

More personal needs money for Medicaid

Eligible recipients get at least $110 each month for personal needs. The Department reviews and adjusts this amount each year for inflation. From July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027, the allowance increases by $15 per month. The state funds this increase with $762,894 from the general fund and $689,466 from other funds.

Medicaid can require Medicare enrollment

The Department can require people who are eligible for Medicare Part A, B, or D to apply for it. This can be a condition to get Medicaid.
