State grant funds UND immigration clinic

The state provides $400,000, or as much as needed, from the general fund to support an immigration law clinic at UND’s law school. The Office of Management and Budget gives the grant to UND. The funding covers July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. The money must be used to fund the clinic during that two-year period.

UND clinic rules for immigrant help

UND’s law school must hire one full-time attorney for the immigration clinic. The clinic attorney cannot have more than 60 open matters at once. The clinic can give legal help by phone or video based on a client’s needs. The law school may charge small fees when needed to run the clinic.
