Permanent funds aid North Dakota schools and institutions

The Board of University and School Lands distributes about $617.3 million from permanent funds for July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027. Common schools receive about $584.7 million. Named colleges and institutions also get set amounts, including North Dakota State University ($8.77 million) and the University of North Dakota ($6.95 million). Funding for University and School Lands office

The law gives about $9.87 million from special funds to the Office of the Commissioner of University and School Lands for July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027. It covers about $8.01 million for salaries, $1.76 million for operating costs, and $0.10 million for contingencies. The law authorizes 33 full-time positions.
