State environmental agency budget 2025–27

The state funds the Department of Environmental Quality for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027. It provides $92,425,480 in all funds: $16,350,783 from the general fund and $76,074,697 from other funds. The money pays $38,756,030 for salaries, $15,457,832 for operating costs, $1,013,500 for capital assets, and $37,198,118 for grants. The law authorizes 173 full-time equivalent positions.

Funds for petroleum tank cleanups

The law provides $723,595 from the Petroleum Tank Release Compensation Fund for 2025–2027. This pays expenses for the petroleum tank release program, including response and cleanup work.

Grant for Stockmen’s environmental program

The law adds $250,000 from the Environment and Rangeland Protection Fund for 2025–2027. Of that, $50,000 must be a grant to the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Environmental Services Program.
