Stronger protections for beer wholesalers

Brewers cannot force you to take deliveries you did not order. They cannot threaten to cancel or not renew a deal to make you break the law. You may sell other brewers’ products anywhere in the state, unless doing so would materially harm that brewer’s sales or service. Brewers cannot demand your confidential financial data about competing brands to renew a contract. They must give you a written contract and cannot force or forbid you to use a business-to-business e‑commerce platform.

Wholesaler contracts survive brewer ownership changes

When a brewer is sold and the buyer keeps brewing, the buyer must honor your current wholesaler contract. This covers stock or asset sales, mergers, leases, transfers, or consolidations. Only "good cause," as defined by law, allows changes or termination.
