Clear long-term care insurance rules for policyholders

The law sets clear terms for long-term care insurance in North Dakota. Policies must define key terms the same way state law does. Activities of daily living means bathing, continence, dressing, eating, toileting, and transferring. Insurers cannot block or delay payment to a basic care facility if you qualify for benefits for medically necessary care, cannot do two or more of those activities without help, or have cognitive impairment that needs continual supervision. Insurers must send you or your representative a copy of your policy within 30 days after you ask.
