Travel and daily pay for members

The presiding officer can create working groups and appoint or remove liaisons. Non‑state members get mileage and expense reimbursement at state rates, paid by the governor’s office. State employees keep their salary and get travel costs from their agency. Legislators get per diem and travel paid by the Legislative Council.

Funding and staffing for Children’s Cabinet

The governor’s office provides staffing and administration for the Children’s Cabinet. The state appropriates $220,000 for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027 to run the cabinet and coordinate working groups.

New statewide Children’s Cabinet for families

The law creates a statewide Children’s Cabinet to coordinate services for kids and families. Members include the governor, courts, lawmakers, key agencies, a tribal representative, and community voices. It meets at least quarterly, sets up working groups, and engages families and providers. The cabinet sends an annual report to the governor and legislative management. It replaces the prior Children’s Cabinet law.
